A passion for lagamorphs leads to plenty of volunteer work for the House Rabbit Network, a non-profit organization that promotes rabbit fostering, adoptions and education on behalf of these charming, intelligent and often underrated companion animals.

If those picturesque boats on Boston's Charles River make your tiller finger itch, join Community Boating, Inc. Your very reasonably-priced Senior Membership will help support the Junior Program—teaching kids from all neighborhoods to sail for just $1 per summer! More than just recreation, the challenge of sailing builds lifelong character in kids and great satisfaction in adults.

The devastation left by Hurricane Katrina is still a central part of life in New Orleans. But volunteers from ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) have made a commitment to Rebuild New Orleans One Family at a Time. Thanks to ACORN, over 2,000 houses have been gutted down to the beams and rafters, ready to be rebuilt by their original owners. Be part of the effort to save New Orleans' people and culture! Sign up to get your hands dirty and your heart glad, or contribute toward the funding needed to keep this effort going.
